Commercial Manager – Swindon/Remote (Freelance Rate, 6‑Month Contract)

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major Civil Engineer contractor working on a large hydro‑electric power scheme in Scotland that includes building, MEP and civil works for a new road construction project. The role will be based in the Swindon office with some remote working.

Responsibilities

• Submit and secure applications to maximise cash income
• Prepare or approve subcontractor payments to ensure compliance with terms
• Produce accurate and timely forecasts and monthly reports to demonstrate contract performance
• Prepare communications to ensure that timely and effective replies are sent
• Monitor commercial and contract performance to ensure prompt and focussed corrective action
• Systematically review and validate incoming information
• Ensure that local teams and workloads are balanced
• Mentor subordinate staff
• Lead regular commercial meetings internally or with client

Qualifications

• Minimum an HNC in Quantity Surveying
• Experienced Commercial Manager with a track record of heading up major infrastructure projects

In return a top day rate (to be discussed) is on offer, and the role is outside IR35 with a 6‑month contract.
