We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Activities Co‑ordinator to join our friendly and dynamic team on Mulberry 2.
Mulberry 2 is a busy and supportive acute treatment ward, where no two days are the same. We work closely with patients from across the acute pathway, creating a positive and engaging environment that supports recovery.
Our team has a strong multidisciplinary presence, bringing together a wide range of skills, experience and energy. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively—not just with each other, but with neighbouring services and, most importantly, with our service users. There’s a real sense of teamwork here, and plenty of opportunities to bring your own ideas and creativity into the role.

Responsibilities
- The provision and co‑ordination of meaningful group and activity sessions for service users.
- The development of activities with individuals and the provision of support to enable people to engage in activity.
- To offer group based sessions with a focus on skill development, social inclusion, communication, education and recovery.
- Working alongside the Nursing and Occupational Therapy team.
- Providing support and practical assistance to service users in order for them to regain confidence in their skills and abilities to enable a successful reintegration into the community.
- Inspiring hope and belief that recovery is possible in others.
- Within a relationship of mutuality, facilitate and support information sharing to promote choice, self‑determination and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.
- Promotion of their role within the ward and wider care setting.
- Establish a supportive and respectful relationship with service users.
- Help individuals identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals and set recovery objectives, drawing on individual resources and utilising a range of recovery tools, techniques and experience.
- Model personal responsibility, self‑awareness, self‑belief to inspire and instil confidence.
- Uses own initiative and job‑related training in deciding on the approach and interventions required when working with a service user in delivering support, although supervision is available.
- Teach coping, self‑help and self‑management techniques.
- Support service users to identify and overcome fears and within a relationship of empathy, trust and honesty, challenge negative self‑talk.
- Facilitate access to community groups and networks that enable service users to participate in community activities, in order to maximise opportunities for taking on socially valued roles and positive identity.
- Act as a positive role model showing professional and caring attitudes and behaviour towards other multi-disciplinary team members, service users and carers.
- Have a focus on the rights of service users at all times.
- Ensure that recovery goals are integrated into the Trust’s CPA process and are reviewed on a regular basis, liaising closely with care co‑ordinators as necessary.
- Work in a way that acknowledges the personal, social, cultural and spiritual strengths and needs of the individual.
