Transport Administrator

Monday to Friday (Rotating Shifts: 06:00-15:00 / 11:00-20:00)
The Best Connection Newport is currently recruiting for a Transport Administrator on behalf of a well-established client based in Chepstow. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to join a fast-paced transport operation, with the potential for a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring all routes run efficiently and on schedule
- Monitor deliveries and collections, identifying and escalating any issues
- Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customer service departments
- Accurately update internal systems with delivery, collection, and consignment data
- Investigate failed deliveries, access issues, and discrepancies
- Assist with driver briefings and debriefings
- Provide general administrative support within the transport office
Requirements
- Previous administrative experience (transport or logistics experience desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of driver hours regulations, the Working Time Directive (WTD), and basic transport compliance
