This opportunity is for an Operations Manager (Finance Track) within the Bank of England's International Directorate, supporting the UK G20 Presidency until 1 December 2027. Two positions are available, with successful candidates based either in London or Leeds.
The role is pivotal to the successful delivery of the G20 Finance Track, requiring strong event planning, stakeholder management and contingency planning in a high‑profile international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess operational issues in the initial planning phase, providing strategic advice to senior colleagues.
- Manage end‑to‑end delivery of G20 Finance Track events during the UK presidency, working closely with HM Treasury.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure value for money through collaboration with the Bank’s finance team.
- Develop detailed event plans and briefing documentation to support the Bank’s UK G20 leadership team.
- Coordinate venue sourcing, supplier engagement, delegate management and production schedules.
- Ensure all events meet protocol, security and reputational standards.
- Collaborate with in‑house technology specialists to design, test and deliver robust virtual conferencing arrangements.
- Ensure all delegate requirements are met and all necessary information is shared before events.
- Coordinate the Delegation Liaison Officer process with HM Treasury for in‑person events.
- Provide support to the wider UK G20 Presidency Unit on related issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience delivering complex or high‑profile events with multiple senior stakeholders.
- Strong event logistics management, coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously with meticulous record‑keeping.
- Experience managing event budgets, public procurement and demonstrating value for money.
- Ability to produce clear, concise and high‑quality briefings and planning documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across diverse organisations.
- Capacity to work autonomously while collaborating within a broader delivery team.
- Strong project management skills with structured planning and coordination of multiple workstreams, supported by relevant qualifications.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or reputationally complex issues.
- Experience delivering events in a public‑sector, diplomatic, financial or international policy context.
- Knowledge of government protocols, accreditation and security processes, with experience engaging with HM Treasury or Cabinet Office.
- Familiarity with virtual or hybrid events and working alongside technology or conferencing specialists.
