Responsibilities

An opportunity has become available for a Breastfeeding Peer Support Co‑ordinator to join the Infant Feeding Team at Calderdale Public Health Early Years Service (0-5). The Post Holder is responsible for the Breastfeeding Peer support element and volunteering framework within the infant feeding offer. The Post Holder will contribute significantly to increasing breastfeeding rates in Calderdale, therefore reducing inequalities and giving children the Best Start in Life. The Post Holder will work with partners (such as Family Hubs and Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Trust) to promote and support breast feeding.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and talented team member to co‑ordinate our Calderdale Breastfeeding Peer Support Service. This role is home‑based but will include a minimum of one day a week supporting infant feeding in a front‑facing role. Travel across the Calderdale region is required so access to personal transport and being a driver is essential in order to meet service needs. Expenses will be reimbursed.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. You must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently. Good IT skills are also essential, and you must have good attention to detail.

Please note – this position may be subject to DBS check.
