The Post

An exciting opportunity to support the Scottish National Audit Programme has arisen within Public Health Scotland by contributing to the achievement of its aims and objectives of improving patient care. Do you have an interest in improving direct patient care through Clinical Audit? Are you a qualified nurse or allied health professional who is a self-starter with a flexible, supportive and motivating leadership style? Then we want to see you.

The Candidate

• Support the National Clinical Coordinator in maintaining a national audit structure across Scotland.
• Ensure audit results are disseminated and acted upon at the clinical level by fostering cooperative relationships within multidisciplinary care teams.
• Assist in developing and implementing clinical education and training programs to ensure local staff have the necessary knowledge to support the improvement initiatives set by the National Clinical Coordinator and National Audit Steering Group.
• Exercise a flexible, supportive, and motivational management style, capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout Scotland.
• Work closely with the National Clinical Coordinator in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
• Desirable: educated to degree level in life science; hold the appropriate professional registration and have demonstrable experience in clinical audit.
• Must have current NMC/HCPC registration at the time of applying, and be able to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check (and a criminal record check if lived/worked overseas >12 months in preceding 5 years).

Location and Working Pattern

The post is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Bothwell Street, Glasgow. The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week, with flexibility for alternative working patterns and temporary overtime during emergencies.
