Youth Justice Practitioner
Location: Trafford
Job Type: Full-time - Contract
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Practitioner to join our multi-agency team in Trafford. This role is crucial in addressing the risk factors associated with offending behaviour and promoting the rehabilitation and social inclusion of young people. The ideal candidate must have a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work as part of a youth justice team to provide a seamless service that addresses the risk factors associated with offending behaviour.
- Create and maintain strong working relationships with young people under Statutory Orders and Out of Court disposals, their families, victims of crime, and professionals.
- Manage risks posed by young people to others and themselves, working within agreed risk management plans.
- Maintain accurate and complete records on all required systems, both internally and externally.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, conferences, and forums relevant to the youth justice service.
- Monitor and evaluate the processes and stages of the youth offending services to ensure quality and successful outcomes.
- Undertake duties of other specialists to ensure continuation of services during staff absence and variable workloads.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in youth justice or a related field.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
- Ability to undertake detailed holistic assessments using recognised youth justice assessment tools.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage positively with young people and their families.
- Competence in facilitating and delivering offending behaviour programmes.
- Knowledge of the framework and procedures relating to resettlement support.
- Ability to provide intense practical support to young people in various aspects of their lives.
- Experience in making home visits and providing transport and escort to venues for restorative justice interventions.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
