Service Manager – Supported Accommodation

- Salary: £340 per day
- Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
About the role:
We are seeking a Service Manager to provide strategic leadership and management for our Supported Accommodation services, catering to young people aged 16+ including those in care, care leavers, and vulnerable young people requiring semi-independent support. This role is crucial in promoting independence, safety, wellbeing, and positive life outcomes for young people.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Supported Accommodation provision meets statutory and regulatory requirements, including compliance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations and Ofsted expectations.
- Act as the Registered Service Manager, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both young people and staff.
- Provide strategic management and professional advice on statutory and safeguarding matters to Team Managers.
- Develop and implement action plans, policies, and statutory requirements effectively.
- Manage homelessness presentations in line with statutory duties and safeguarding requirements.
- Oversee decision-making, escalation pathways, and multi-agency coordination for young people at risk of homelessness.
- Lead on data collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting related to homelessness and accommodation outcomes.
- Ensure effective utilisation and deployment of resources (human, physical, and financial) to meet the council's priorities and statutory responsibilities within allocated budgets.
- Maintain and develop building security systems and standards.
- Promote and maintain positive relationships with all employees, external agencies, and trade unions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant education in youth work, social care, health care, or management.
- Experience in Supported Accommodation or Children’s Residential Homes at a managerial level.
- Strong knowledge of supported accommodation, safeguarding, and statutory regulations
- Proven ability in project management and budgets
- Ability to manage internal and external relationships sensitively.
- Knowledge of the legal and policy framework for Children's Services
- Ability to motivate, and develop staff, and to lead successful teams.
- Enhanced DBS check.
