About the Role

The Senior Science and Innovation Consultant role at Talogy is a senior contributor in the global R&D department who conducts and directs team activities on key projects within the R&D roadmap. They utilize a broad knowledge of I/O psychology principles to create psychometric content for multiple initiatives. They also often manage an entire practice area, product line or vertical for Talogy, throughout its development lifecycle.

This is a full-time permanent role, with flexible hours around core office availability Monday to Friday. The role can be performed remotely, with occasional travel for meetings, events and workshops.


Role Responsibilities

  • Manages entire practice area/product line/vertical throughout its development lifecycle, with little
  • need for guidance from leadership; takes ownership of key responsibility areas.
  • Directs the work of others on a project team; oversees, prioritizes, and provides guidance on projects related to key product lines.
  • Strategically defines initiatives/areas of emphasis for product lines; Evaluates the commercial
  • benefits of initiatives; sets goals on Roadmap and takes responsibility for goal attainment.
  • Leads cross-departmental, multi-disciplinary, and global projects with ownership of work output created from teams external to R&D.
  • Has a breadth of experience in designing different assessment and/or development methods.
  • Develops areas of specialization, as a 'go-to' resource on the team in critical R&D knowledge areas (e.g., IRT, Machine Learning, Item-type development, Validation, Mobile learning etc.).
  • Contributes to thought leadership in the field by participating in research for publication/conference presentation, credible lead presenter at key conferences/events, and assists Marketing and Sales enablement with collateral development.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Strong experience in previous R&D psychology roles or related functions.
  • Qualification in I/O, occupational or organizational/business psychology to a higher education level such as a Master’s degree. PhD (ABD), chartership (CPsychol), or equivalent educational level preferred, e.g. ABP Senior Business Psychologist qualification.
  • Expert knowledge of core psychometric principles and R&D-related areas, e.g. IRT, item-type development, validation, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing a range of psychometric content, and collaborating with software teams for implementation on technology platforms.
