A well-established and growing planning consultancy is seeking an ambitious Associate Planner to join its team in Cardiff.


This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planning professional looking to take the next step in their career within a respected consultancy delivering a strong pipeline of residential, commercial, energy, and mixed-use developments across Wales and the UK.


The Opportunity

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing planning projects, advising clients, and supporting the continued growth of the business. You will work closely with senior leadership while helping to mentor junior planners within a collaborative and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied portfolio of planning applications and appeals
  • Providing strategic planning advice to a diverse client base
  • Preparing planning statements, site appraisals, and representations
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Supporting business development and team growth initiatives


Candidate Requirements

  • MRTPI qualified (or close to qualification)
  • Experience within a consultancy, developer, or local authority environment
  • Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
