Exclusive to Grõ Careers | Central London
Not on job boards. Not with any other agency.
Some project professionals add value by keeping things moving.
Others add value by stopping projects from drifting in the first place.
They see scope creep early.
They understand where the commercial pressure is building.
They know when to formally capture change.
They can challenge teams, support directors, protect fee position, and bring control to complex delivery environments without creating unnecessary noise.
If that sounds more like your role on projects, this opportunity may be particularly relevant.
Grõ Careers has been exclusively retained on a Senior Project Manager opportunity with a highly respected, design-led multidisciplinary practice in Central London.
This is not a generic PM hire.
It is a role for someone who can operate at a more senior level across commercial management, NEC contract administration, change control, project controls, and multidisciplinary coordination, helping senior leaders deliver major projects with greater structure, commercial discipline, and performance visibility.
The Opportunity
You’ll join an established management function supporting the delivery of major live schemes in both the UK and internationally.
This role sits close to project leadership.
You’ll be working alongside senior directors and multidisciplinary design teams, managing the parts of project delivery that often determine whether a scheme remains commercially healthy, contractually robust, and operationally under control.
Depending on the project, you may be embedded within a flagship scheme or supporting a number of major projects where your strengths are needed most, particularly around commercials, programme oversight, contract admin, change, and team performance.
What you’ll do
- Take a leading role in project commercials, including fee position, forecasting, spend monitoring, and reporting on multi-million-pound projects (£50-£500+ million)
- Manage scope, change, and contractual processes across live projects
- Operate confidently within NEC (amongst other) contract environments, including compensation events, contractual notifications, programme implications, and change control
- Help maintain project performance through clear reporting, structured decision-making, and early intervention where issues begin to emerge
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and client-side stakeholders across complex workstreams
- Lead commercially sensitive conversations around scope, fee pressure, resource impact, and delivery risk
- Support programme reviews, progress monitoring, and resource planning
- Maintain robust records around RFIs, comments, changes, key decisions, and contract-related matters
- Bring greater control, visibility, and accountability to project teams
- Lead and support the development of more junior team members where appropriate
Why this is different
- A chance to move into a senior role where your value is not just in coordination, but in commercial judgement, contract awareness, and delivery leadership
- Exposure to major national and international flagship schemes within a respected design-led environment
- A strong fit for people who enjoy solving the management side of complex projects at a higher level
- The opportunity to build a long-term career in a substantial specialist team where seniority is shaped by capability, not just title
You’ll be a strong fit if…
- You are currently operating as a Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Senior Design Manager, Design Manager, or commercially strong delivery lead within a complex project environment
- You have a strong background in commercially aware project delivery
- You are comfortable managing fee pressure, forecasting, scope, change, reporting, and stakeholder expectations
- You have solid experience working in NEC contract environments
- You can speak credibly about compensation events, change control, programme implications, and contractual obligations
- You are confident operating around senior stakeholders, challenging drift, and helping teams maintain control under pressure
- You are proactive, structured, commercially minded, and trusted to keep projects aligned
- You are looking for a role with real progression, visibility, and long-term headroom
Particularly relevant backgrounds
We are especially keen to hear from people with experience in:
- large-scale multidisciplinary projects
- healthcare, infrastructure, science & technology, workplace, or similarly demanding sectors
- NEC-led project environments
- change control, commercial reporting, forecasting, and project controls
- contractor-side, multidisciplinary consultancy, engineering, infrastructure, or design-led delivery backgrounds
What you’ll get
- A permanent role within a highly regarded London studio
- A clear move into a more senior, higher-trust position
- Strong long-term development potential within a specialist team
- Exposure to major flagship schemes in the UK and beyond
- Competitive salary and benefits package
