We are looking for an experienced and commercially‑focused Head of Account Management to lead and develop our national Account Management team within the UK Mail brand. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving retention, deepening strategic customer relationships and growing multimillion‑pound contracts with some of the UK’s largest organisations, including major financial institutions.
You’ll bring a fresh, innovative viewpoint and a naturally curious mindset - someone who asks great questions, challenges constructively, and spots opportunities others may miss. This is a high‑impact role that blends strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership and exceptional relationship management.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach and develop an 8‑person Account Management team to deliver a high‑performance culture
- Own and deliver the customer development strategy for UK Mail
- Build deep, trust‑based relationships with senior stakeholders across large, complex organisations
- Retain and grow multimillion‑pound contracts through exceptional service, strong commercial understanding and proactive account planning
- Develop compelling commercial proposals, leveraging strong financial and operational insight
- Negotiate multi‑year contracts with major corporate postal users
- Oversee tender responses and renewals to secure long‑term customer commitments
- Drive profitability within existing accounts by improving efficiency and service quality
- Act as a key partner to operational, commercial, finance and product teams
- Use customer insight and market intelligence to influence product development and commercial strategy
- Sponsor several strategic customer relationships at senior level
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing large, complex corporate accounts
- Strong track record of team leadership, coaching and building capability
- Service‑industry background preferred (e.g., logistics, financial services, B2B service providers)
- Experience working with major financial institutions highly desirable
- Skilled in creating and negotiating high‑value commercial proposals
- Strong understanding of commercial drivers, profitability and operational performance
- Experience operating in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments

Qualifications
- Degree‑level education or equivalent commercial experience
