Company: Realm Recruit
Apply for the Private Client Senior Associate Solicitor
Location: Greater Manchester
Job Description:

  • High-quality HNW private client work with real autonomy and progression
  • Hybrid working, compressed hours and a genuinely collaborative culture
  • Join a growing regional team with complex estates, succession planning and trust work ready to inherit

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior private client lawyer who wants the quality of work often associated with larger firms, but within a more grounded, relationship-led environment.

Based in Greater Manchester, you’ll join an established private client team handling a broad range of complex matters for high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners across the North West. The caseload is varied and interesting, with a strong mix of probate, estate planning, wills, trusts and succession planning work, including tax-efficient strategies and agricultural matters where relevant.

You’ll step into a busy caseload from day one, with the autonomy to manage matters independently while still benefiting from a collaborative and supportive team around you. The environment is professional without feeling corporate, and there’s a strong emphasis on long-term relationships, both with clients and colleagues.

The team is continuing to grow, creating clear progression opportunities for someone ambitious who wants to move beyond a static senior associate role over time. There’s genuine scope to develop your profile internally, mentor more junior lawyers and become a key part of the department’s future.

The office itself is modern, spacious and easily accessible, with plenty of parking and a friendly atmosphere that people tend to stay in long term.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ years’ PQE in private client law
  • Experience managing your own private client caseload with minimal supervision
  • Strong technical knowledge across wills, probate, trusts and estate planning
  • Proven experience advising HNW clients
  • Commercially aware with strong client relationship skills
  • Collaborative, personable and relationship-focused approach
  • STEP qualification or working towards STEP (Desired)
  • Experience with agricultural matters beneficial but not essential (Desired)
  • Comfortable mentoring or supporting junior team members (Desired)

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a varied caseload of private client matters from instruction through to completion
  • Advising on wills, trusts, estate administration and succession planning
  • Handling HNW and more complex probate matters
  • Advising on tax-efficient estate planning strategies
  • Supporting family business succession matters
  • Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider team
  • Supporting junior lawyers where appropriate

Salary & Benefits

  • Clear progression pathway from Senior Associate through to senior leadership level
  • Hybrid working with up to 2 days from home
  • Compressed hours option available (full-time across 4 days)
  • Part-time considered (4 days per week)
  • Modern flagship office with excellent facilities
  • Large open-plan collaborative working environment
  • High-quality HNW and complex private client work readily available
  • Strong social culture and supportive team environment
  • Genuine investment in progression, wellbeing and long-term development
