Senior Manufacturing Engineer – CMO (Contract Manufacturing Operations)

At Smith+ Nephew, this role leads strategic initiatives to enhance the Advanced Wound Management franchise within the Contract Manufacturing Organization, focusing on product sustainment, value creation, and manufacturing resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of key strategic projects across the CMO portfolio of products and manufacturing sites.
• Manage complex changes through the change control process while ensuring regulatory compliance and documentation quality.
• Provide cross‑discipline engineering support across the CMO network, collaborating with suppliers to sustain challenges and mitigate impact on customers.
• Develop a robust platform to deliver product value and execute projects that achieve business benefit.
• Deliver key project updates to senior stakeholders to ensure the CMO roadmap is delivered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Advanced degree in engineering or science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong skills in process validation, problem solving/root cause analysis, change control, and project planning tools.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and work independently with a strategic mindset.
