Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Director to join our team based at our West Midlands Head office in Coleshill.

The Role

Joining our team as Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing the management, control and reporting of all technical matters to meet the Region's business plan and future growth plans.

Key duties and requirements

• Providing people leadership of the technical department ensuring the effective management, compliance, and control across all Avant Homes developments.
• Ensuring that all planning and design requirements are effectively managed and reported on.
• Overseeing external working partnerships.
• Ensure the department is fully engaged in the process of determining, agreeing and delivering site start programmes within the agreed timescales.
• Managing technical and regulatory approvals, adoptions, bonds and reimbursements and provide key status reports and updates on KPI's.
• Providing advice to the Land department on the technical viability of new sites.
• Working closely with internal departments such as Land and Construction to ensure the delivery of our developments in alignment with pre agreed project plans.
• Lead in effective management of Health & Safety responsibilities on all developments.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful as our Technical Director , you will hold extensive all round technical knowledge along with experience of people management whilst experience of working within a similar role for a house builder.

You will also possess:

• Extensive Technical knowledge and Commercial awareness
• Broad awareness of codes of practise that impact technical matters for example planning policy, building regulations, NHBC requirements and HSE etc
• Departmental planning and strategy experience.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• The ability to showcase inspirational leadership skills and the mentoring of team members.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
