The Role
The Supply Chain Quality Manager is responsible for building Wild’s end‑to‑end quality management system, distilling established Unilever practices across our supply chain network spanning contract manufacturers and 3PLs. Working effectively across multiple functions, this person designs processes, standards and controls that prevent quality failures before they reach customers and leads resolution when they do. This hands‑on, field‑facing role requires approximately 30% of time spent on‑site at supplier facilities and 3PL warehouses across the UK and internationally, observing processes firsthand, building relationships with operational teams and identifying and resolving issues. The role is a junior to mid‑level position reporting to the Head of Supply Chain.
What you will do
Quality management system build
- Design and implement Wild’s end‑to‑end quality management system (QMS)
- Define quality standards, SOPs and control points across the supply chain
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions
Manufacturer quality management
- Conduct on‑site supplier audits and performance assessments across UK and international partners
- Ensure manufacturers have documented, agreed procedures
- Develop manufacturer quality scorecards and KPI tracking
- Investigate non‑conformances, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Help define and communicate clear quality specifications to suppliers
3PL & fulfilment quality
- Partner with the fulfilment team and 3PL management to embed quality controls into warehouse processes
- Define inbound goods verification procedures – physical checks, labelling accuracy, language variant segregation
- Conduct regular on‑site visits to the 3PL to observe processes, build relationships with operational teams and identify gaps firsthand
- Develop a 3PL quality scorecard to track and review performance regularly
- Lead investigations into fulfilment‑related quality failures and drive corrective and preventative actions with the 3PL
Quality reporting, data & escalation
- Build the Wild quality dashboard – consolidating data from suppliers, 3PL and customer complaints into a single view of quality performance across the supply chain
- Produce a monthly quality report for senior leadership and exec, translating data into clear insights and recommended actions
- Support external reporting requirements such as retailer quality submissions and auditor requests
- Own the transition from manual/spreadsheet‑based tracking toward more structured, scalable data processes as the function matures
Continuous improvement
- Leverage quality data and KPIs to identify recurring failure patterns and systemic risks
- Work with suppliers and 3PL partners to improve process capability and reduce defect rates
- Implement preventative quality controls – moving the function from reactive to proactive
- Report quality trends to senior leadership – make the case for investment where systemic fixes are needed
What we need from you
- Proven experience (4+ years) in a supply‑chain, supplier or operations quality role – ideally in FMCG, consumer goods or a similarly fast‑paced environment
- Hands‑on auditing experience – comfortable conducting on‑site visits at supplier facilities and warehouses, not just desk‑based quality reviews
- Ability to influence without direct authority – you get things done through relationships, clear documentation and presence on the ground
- Experience building or significantly improving quality processes – not just inheriting a mature system
- Comfortable with regular UK and international travel (approx. 30% of the role)
- Data‑driven – able to build quality dashboards and scorecards, track KPIs and translate data into clear reporting for senior leadership
- Confident working with manual/spreadsheet‑based data environments and able to improve data infrastructure over time
- Excellent communicator – equally effective with warehouse operatives, suppliers and senior leadership
