Role overview
Our Senior Product Owner will be highly skilled and results-driven. They will work with the wider Product Delivery & Change team to ensure delivery of innovative products to enhance and improve Parmenion’s market position. The role holder will operate as the key interface between business functions, Marketing Communications, Sales (customers & clients) and Parmenion’s change and engineering team.
The overriding purpose of the role is to:
- Develop Parmenion’s platform proposition, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of advisers and their clients, and that the expected commercial and customer outcomes are delivered.
- Increase awareness and understanding of Parmenion’s platform vision and proposition, both internally and externally, clearly articulating its purpose and customer benefits, which ultimately leads to an increase in adoption.
- Ensure good internal awareness of industry developments and the activities of key competitors, being clear on Parmenion’s market position and competitive advantage.
- Act in a Product Owner capacity, defining clear product requirements, prioritising the backlog, and ensuring delivery teams are focused on work that maximises customer and business value.
- Work with marcomms to ensure that take to market activities about our platform developments remain relevant and effective across the entire audience, gaining cut through & impact.
Duties include:
- Acting as the subject matter expert on platform services and the use of digital and data in our market, including Parmenion’s platform strategy and proposition.
- Understanding the market, competitor position and emerging opportunities and threats in adviser use and adoption of platforms - including identifying and quantifying emerging customer needs, ensuring they are central to all platform developments.
- Identifying new and innovative ideas to develop and enhance our platform proposition, undertaking the commercial modelling required, complete adviser and customer research and testing, working with our Customer, Commercial and Finance Leadership Teams as required.
- Define and communicate the product vision, goals, and success metrics to ensure alignment across teams.
- Translate business strategy, customer needs, and market insights into a clear product roadmap.
- Own, prioritise, and continuously refine the product backlog to maximise business and customer value, ensuring that backlog items are visible, transparent, and understood by delivery teams.
- Work closely with delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure features are delivered with high quality and within expected timeframes.
- Working closely with Parmenion’s front line and operational teams to ensure that both they and their adviser customers have the necessary skills, support/training, and materials needed to operate Parmenion’s products and services and promote Parmenion’s new platform developments.
- Management of our Product Development Framework, ensuring all developments are in line with our governance policies and procedures.
Requirements for the role (Industry/technical knowledge, qualifications, and experience)
- Significant wealth management experience, with in-depth knowledge of retail wealth financial services products (e.g., ISAs, pensions & other tax wrappers) and a deep understanding of adviser business practices and their advice processes.
- Proven track record as a Product Owner using Agile Methodologies and in agile teams.
- Proven experience delivering innovative digital-first wealth management solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to execute, delivering on strategic goals.
- Excellent verbal communicator.
- Proven commercial operator, able to establish productive relationships both within and outside an organisation.
- A good understanding of the UK investment and savings environment & wider UK regulatory environment.
