What we are looking for?
We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff and visitors on site. The role includes applying thorough access‑control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned and ad‑hoc patrols, and any other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions. In an emergency, you will follow prescribed escalation and communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues, and the emergency services.
You will work an average of 42 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off rotation, with days only from 07:00 – 19:00.
Responsibilities
- Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
- Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
- Record entry and exit of deliveries on site, including processing of paperwork in line with quality procedures.
- Carry out patrols to the correct standards.
- Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours provision, if applicable.
- Complete required documents such as daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records, and site‑specific reports.
- Familiarize yourself with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality and safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager or client personnel on any changes or recommendations.
- Maintain training records via the Corps Colleague Portal, ensuring your first aid and fire marshal training meet legislative guidelines.
- Continuously apply SIA skills and maintain professionalism; display your licence at all times.
- Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
- Valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential.
- Previous control‑room or corporate experience.
- Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work to deadlines, multitask, and work under pressure.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software.
- Capability to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.
