Our client is a well-established, globally recognised multi-strategy hedge fund managing approximately $9 billion in assets.
They are looking for a Senior Trading Systems Developer to be the sole technical presence in their London office; owning the full trade life cycle stack end-to-end and working directly alongside traders and portfolio managers with no local dev management layer above you.
This is not a role for someone who needs close oversight. They want someone who surfaces problems before they’re asked, moves fast under pressure, and is trusted to represent the global dev team in a demanding trading environment.
Requirements
Technical
- 5+ years professional software development with clear ownership progression
- C# and/or Python as primary languages
- Hands‑on experience with OMS, EMS, market data infrastructure, or P&L/position workflows
- Web front‑end experience (Angular or React preferred)
- Fluency with CI/CD, distributed source control, and automated testing tooling
- Degree in computer science or related STEM discipline
- Confident and direct with senior traders under live market pressure
- Deep sense of personal ownership
- Proactive by default; you identify issues before being asked
- Composure and decisiveness when the environment demands urgency
- Clear communicator across time zones with a globally distributed team
- Comfortable with out‑of‑hours support when critical issues arise
