Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the pharmacy team, ensuring high standards of care and service.
- Oversee and optimise pharmacy operational processes, including staff appraisals, development, and training.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines in a hospital setting.
- Implement and maintain electronic stock control systems efficiently.
- Develop and update pharmacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Promote safe medication practices and conduct audits and data analysis.
- Handle incident reports and investigations to continually improve service delivery.
- Participate in a rotational schedule, including potential weekend work.
- Provide support for urgent medication‑related queries through an on‑call rota.
- Manage pharmacy budgets and contribute to change management.
- Develop business cases to support pharmacy initiatives.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- A Clinical Diploma or equivalent clinical pharmacist experience.
- Experience in a management role within a hospital setting.
- Familiarity with electronic stock control systems.
- Demonstrated experience in policy and guideline development.
- Expertise in safe medication practices and conducting audits.
- Proven ability in incident report handling and investigation.
- Desirable experience in budgetary management and business case development.
