Location Our offices are in London, Macclesfield and Manchester. We are open to applications from all over the UK as we have remote and flexible hybrid working policies.

  • Lucid Global – works with global brand teams at big and mid‑tier pharmaceuticals and biotech clients to deliver powerful medical communications solutions across the asset lifecycle.
  • Lucid Strategy Consulting – provides expertise in research, development and commercialisation across therapeutic areas and modalities, streamlining product development, building operational capabilities, innovating, and supporting execution to create value for patients, clients and shareholders.
  • US MedComms – works with both US and Global brand teams to create powerful medical communications solutions for early lifecycle assets.
  • US Marketing – serves clients across Rx, Medical Device, OTC and Consumer Device categories, delivering compelling communications and promotional solutions to Healthcare Professionals for in‑market assets.

About the Role

A Medical Writer at Lucid can create synergy between science, technical information and commercial objectives to deliver compelling programmes.

  • Develop high‑quality medical content based on complex clinical data.
  • Maintain high levels of quality and accuracy on any given project, using multiple writing styles as needed.
  • Deliver appropriate communication for each client and build good relationships with them through trusted service and knowledge.
  • Ensure factual accuracy in all content development.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of client data and how to communicate effectively to a wider range of audiences.
  • Support the development and delivery of new and organic business proposals.
  • Build effective internal partnerships with other capabilities to deliver the project plan on schedule and within budget (client services, project management, creative, strategy, etc).
  • Create synergy between science, technical information and commercial objectives to deliver compelling programmes.
  • Acquire outstanding knowledge of client data and understand both therapy area and commercial objectives.
  • Champion excellent standards.
  • Be an invaluable scientific and strategic partner for clients.
  • Ensure excellence is always delivered for all projects, on time and on budget.
  • Contribute to the pitch process and new business proposals.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in a scientific, medical or life sciences field.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Experience managing own time in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Experience working within a healthcare communications agency environment.
  • Experience working within the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience writing for a variety of medical/scientific audiences.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively and efficiently in a cross‑capability team.
  • Proven ability to build professional external partnerships through work.
  • Proven ability to create high‑quality medical/scientific content.
