About the Role
As a Unit Nurse Manager (General) at a Barchester care home, you will use your compassion and initiative to ensure our residents receive the quality care they deserve. You will plan, manage and monitor the delivery of nursing that meets all of our residents’ needs, implementing person‑centred care plans that make a real difference to residents’ day‑to‑day lives. Your responsibilities include planning rotas, recruiting, training and mentoring staff, and building relationships with local regulators and social services. You will have the freedom and autonomy to take your unit from strength to strength, with ample opportunities for professional development.
About You
You are a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration. Your experience includes producing well‑developed care plans and detailed risk assessments, and you maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of recent clinical practices and regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines. You are a natural leader who has acted as a clinical mentor, supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. You are dedicated, ambitious and resilient, with a strong track record of delivering improvements that achieve quality care.
