Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join our established multidisciplinary Building Services team. The practice works on a variety of projects in and around Aberdeen and across the whole of Scotland as well as UK wide, operating across commercial, residential, industrial, and healthcare sectors.

Role

You would play a key part in the Electrical Design team and the wider company and would be expected to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing electrical systems for building service projects.
• Preparing technical reports and specifications.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Collaborating with other engineers, architects, and clients.
• Producing Bills of Quantities and providing cost control / reports per project.
• Mentoring junior team members.

Education, Experience and Key Skills

• Preferably a degree in electrical engineering or a related field but minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience in electrical design engineering on Building Services projects.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD / Revit drawing packages.
• Good working skills with Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of lighting design packages such as Dialux & Relux.
• Good working knowledge of electrical design software.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and building regulations, best practice, and innovative technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
