Job Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team at the Liverpool branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance and development of a corporate customer portfolio, winning and onboarding new customers via proactive business development activities. They will also manage all aspects of client relationships, including preparation of credit applications, balance sheet analysis, annual reviews, monitoring of management accounts, covenant compliance, profitability, and ensuring clients have full knowledge of the Bank’s banking services.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance and development of a portfolio of corporate customers, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining how we work and what we can offer.
- Complete credit applications and credit annual reviews in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy.
- Interpret customers’ financial information, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings, structure transactions, and ensure appropriate customer selection.
- Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market and maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.
- Attend suitable networking events and undertake focused business development activities.
- Identify and offer customers appropriate products and services on a needs basis, effectively communicating relevant features, benefits and risks.
- General administration, preparation and review of legal documentation for accounts (including KYC/AML reviews), lending facilities and securities.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven track‑record in corporate relationship and portfolio management with a strong understanding of the Bank’s Credit Policy, processes, and corporate products.
- Strong business development capabilities, with the ability to build professional relationships at all levels and represent the Bank effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, a strong team player, flexible, proactive, conscientious, and able to work under pressure.
- High attention to detail and an organised approach to work, delivering with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with lending documentation, securities, and AML/KYC procedures for business customers is advantageous.
- High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel) is essential; training will be provided on additional internal IT systems.
