RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance (OAFA).
- Financial Assistance Administration
- Administer the end‑to‑end FA application process, including application review, eligibility assessment, award recommendation, and disbursement.
- Partner with FA Managers and Verifiers to ensure timely processing of applications within established service timelines.
- Review bursary and study award applications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to policy guidelines.
- Provide guidance to students on application procedures and eligibility requirements, and resolve related queries.
- Manage and respond to enquiries via the Centre's communication channels in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow up on consent matters, including those relating to foreign applicants' scholarship applications.
- Support the coordination of FA‑related activities, events, and administrative processes.
- Communications & Outreach
- Develop and produce communication materials, including digital and social media content, to enhance awareness of FA schemes and application processes.
- Present information in a clear and accessible manner to support student understanding and engagement.
- Process Improvement & System Enhancement
- Support the review and enhancement of FA workflows, with a focus on improving efficiency and user experience within the HOMES system.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and IT teams to identify issues, define requirements, and implement system improvements.
- Document and maintain process workflows, including current and future state mapping.
- Assist in tracking system issues, monitoring performance indicators, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree with at least one year of relevant administrative experience, preferably within the education sector.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of operational or process improvement initiatives will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and Canva.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating content for digital channels is preferred.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident in delivering presentations and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptable and resourceful in managing dynamic situations.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
