Position

Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS)

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, guidance and recommendations on the implementation of security policies and procedures across the trust.
  • Maintain and enhance the security and safety of service users, staff and visitors, including oversight of operational implementation of policies and procedures such as CCTV.
  • Report to the Board, Executive team and Health and Safety Sub‑Committee on security risks, ensuring they are managed according to statutory requirements and NHS guidance; raise and elevate risks that require Executive oversight.
  • Lead the trust on the delivery and statutory requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
  • Plan and develop training and education initiatives to provide appropriate specialised security training to all stakeholders.

Applicants must have extensive knowledge and expertise in the Local Security Management Specialist role and meet the essential criteria described in the person specification for the post.
