Scottish Power Renewables are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join them on a 6 month contract basis, based in Glasgow.

Purpose
As a key member of the Onshore Renewables Development Team, the Assistant Project Manager will play a vital role in advancing renewable energy projects (onshore wind). This position involves taking a proactive lead on various aspects of project development, while providing comprehensive technical, strategic and operational support to the Project Manager.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-impact renewable energy projects, helping to drive the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
Responsibilities
- Take on and manage tasks assigned by the Project Manager to develop SPR pipeline of renewable projects, focusing on repowering.
- Project manage feasibility assessments, design stages, securing grid and land agreements, stakeholder consultation and commercial development of project business cases.
- Provide input to the environmental impact assessment process, including preparation of environmental statements and planning applications for projects.
- Liaise and coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery specifications are met, including contributions to tender assessments.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure development activities progress in a timely manner.
- Provide input to all commercial agreements and contracts to mitigate risks and assist the Project Manager in preparing and presenting investment cases.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum previous experience in a development role or within the Renewables or Power Generation industry.
- Ability to translate technical detail into commercial impact.
- Experience in commercial negotiations and ability to analyse development issues.
- Creative problem solving and ability to identify and source external resources and skills to help deliver Renewables projects on time and on budget.
