Within the Highways Department, it is our role to keep people moving safely and our work touches the lives of virtually all residents and visitors within the county. This is a varied, high‑profile role suited to someone who enjoys collaborating, influencing, and making informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive commercial strategy to support organisational priorities and ensure compliance and best value.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships and provide expert commercial advice to senior leaders.
- Monitor contract performance and risks to ensure quality outcomes, and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in commercial and contract administration.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with contractors and supply chain.
- Analytical skills to solve problems, using evidence to produce clear and precise arguments and reports.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop teams and individuals.
- Sound budget management skills.

- Starting salary will be pro‑rata if the position is part‑time or term‑time.
