Position

An exciting opportunity within the Estates Department for a Multi‑skilled Maintenance Technician – Electrical.

This role involves delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of plant and equipment throughout the NHS Orkney Board area. Key responsibilities include:

Candidate

The successful applicant will be an experienced electrician in building services, with a strong technical background and a commitment to maintaining safe, efficient healthcare environments. The role requires:

Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration

Location: The Balfour

Working pattern: Full Time, 36 hours per week (0800‑1600 Monday to Thursday, 0800‑1430 Friday)

Contract: Permanent. Condition of employment: Must live and remain a resident within the UK.

Benefits and Salary

Salary: Band 5. If residing on Orkney, Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro rata per annum.
