Medical Administrator (Secondary School)
Location: IpswichStart Date: ImmediateDuration: Minimum 1 month (potential to become long-term for the right candidate)Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–2:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)Contract: TemporaryTerm Time: Until half term initially
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Medical Administrator to support the first aid/sick bay in a busy secondary school in Ipswich. This is an immediate-start temporary role, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising the school first aid room
- Assessing students who attend the sick bay (checking temperature and symptoms)
- Liaising with parents/guardians when required
- Encouraging students to return to lessons where appropriate
- Updating and maintaining accurate medical and attendance records
- Managing basic administrative tasks related to student welfare
Requirements
- Valid First Aid qualification (essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one (essential)
- Experience working with children or within a school environment (desirable)
- Calm, professional manner with strong communication skills
- Ability xwzovoh to manage sensitive situations with discretion and care
