We are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to join a well-established and reputable specialist contractor. The business delivers high-quality construction, refurbishment, and roofing projects, with a strong focus on heritage and listed buildings.
This is a key role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from inception through to completion. The position combines both site-based management and office coordination, requiring a proactive and commercially aware individual who can operate with minimal supervision.
Projects are typically high-end refurbishments and extensions, often involving complex heritage works, with values ranging from £500,000 to £1 million.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing multiple construction projects from start to finish
- Overseeing contracts, budgets, and cost control
- Pricing and managing project variations in collaboration with internal teams
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinating and managing subcontractors and site teams
- Procuring materials and managing supplier relationships
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations across all projects
- Programming and scheduling works to meet deadlines
- Balancing on-site supervision with office-based planning and reporting
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience delivering construction projects end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Strong background in refurbishment, ideally including heritage or listed buildings
- SMSTS qualification
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
- Strong commercial awareness, including contracts and variations
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications such as NVQ Level 6, Black Card (or equivalent advanced CSCS)
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge and practical application
- Experience within specialist construction sectors (e.g. roofing, restoration, or conservation works)
- Good IT skills
Working Pattern:
- Full-time, permanent role
- Office-based with regular site visits
- Working hours: 07:30-17:00 (plus travel as required)
