Electrical Installation Testing Engineer

Drayton Beaumont Group is expanding, and we are now building a dedicated Electrical Testing Department to support our continued growth across commercial, industrial, and education-sector projects.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Testing Engineer to join the business and play a key role in developing this department from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent and motivated testing engineer who wants to be part of a growing team and help shape the way our testing and inspection services are delivered.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection and testing across a range of projects, ensuring installations are tested, certified, and completed in accordance with current regulations, client requirements, and company standards.

Duties will include:

• Carrying out initial verification, periodic inspection, and electrical testing.
• Completing Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Works Certificates, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports.
• Testing and inspecting single-phase and three-phase installations.
• Identifying defects, non-compliances, and remedial works.
• Producing accurate test results and certification.
• Liaising with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Supporting the development of Drayton Beaumont Group’s Electrical Testing Department.
• Helping to maintain high standards of compliance, safety, and workmanship.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in electrical inspection and testing.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent inspection and testing qualification.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• ECS/JIB Gold Card preferred.
• Experience completing NICEIC-style certification and test documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
