Position: Assistant Contracts Manager

Location: Havant, Hampshire

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 DOE + £525/month Car Allowance + Healthcare + Bonus

We are proud to be working with a well-established and highly respected Civil Engineering Contractor, delivering major infrastructure, water, coastal defence and environmental projects across the South of England. Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking a Graduate Contracts Manager to join their team based on a flagship infrastructure project in Havant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate looking to build a long-term career within civil engineering and project delivery, gaining exposure to commercial management, programme coordination, subcontractor management and operational delivery on complex projects.

The company are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently and proactively rather than in a purely task-orientated role. Assistant Contracts Manager Job Overview

• Supporting the Contracts and Project Management teams across major civil engineering projects
• Assisting with programme monitoring, project coordination and reporting
• Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders
• Supporting commercial and contractual processes across live projects
• Monitoring project documentation, progress and compliance requirements
• Assisting with procurement activities and subcontractor coordination
• Supporting project reviews and operational meetings
• Developing an understanding of NEC contracts and project delivery processes
• Helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within programme constraints
• Working closely with senior leadership to gain broad operational exposure

Assistant Contracts Manager Job Requirements

• Degree qualified within Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Commercial awareness and business-minded approach
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ambitious and eager to develop a long-term career within Contracts Management
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
• Previous placement, internship or construction industry exposure advantageous
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
