3D Animator (Narrative FPS) - Unreal Engine 5

Our tight knit and experienced team of developers, designers, and artists share a passion for storytelling, game mechanics, and creating unforgettable gaming experiences. Our mission is to create feelings of Awe for our players.
We are currently seeking a talented 3D Animator to join our team and work on our upcoming title, which combines the worlds of humans, robots, and human-machine hybrids.
Role:
The 3D Animator will work closely with our design team to create gameplay and cinematic animations, and implement character and creature animations that seamlessly blend with our game's environment and mechanics. The successful candidate will have a strong background in animation for video games, with a particular focus on humanoid animation.
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality animations for a variety of game assets, including cinematic sequences, for humans, robots, and creatures
- Collaborate with the design team to develop animation systems that enhance gameplay mechanics and narrative
- Utilise Unreal Engine 5 to implement and optimise animations in the game environment
- Provide feedback and creative input to improve the overall game aesthetic and player experience
- Work within time constraints to meet project deadlines
- Maintain a high level of quality while working with design requirements and constraints
- Stay updated with animation trends and technology
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a 3D Animator, preferably in the video game industry
- Strong portfolio showcasing your animation skills, particularly in first-person or creature animation
- Excellent understanding of animation principles and character acting
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy
- Understanding of rigging, skinning, and related character setup processes
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Passion for video games and understanding of good game design practices
Nice to Have:
- Proficiency in using Unreal Engine 5 for animation implementation, or similar experience
- Familiarity with narrative FPS
