Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated, skilled and caring professional to join a friendly and cohesive team of dedicated paediatric radiologists at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Job responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive diagnostic paediatric radiology service including general plain radiography, CT, ultrasound, and MRI.
- Participate fully with the varied work of the department including dedicated on‑call rota.
- Lead imaging in multidisciplinary meetings.
- Contribute to training and quality improvement activity.
- Encourage the development of a subspecialty interest in collaboration with colleagues; subspecialty training in paediatric neuroradiology is not essential but will be accommodated, as will dedicated paediatric interventional radiology.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Training & Experience
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
- FRCR or equivalent
- Experience of Paediatric Radiology with at least 1 year of subspecialty training in a recognised centre
- Independent performance and reporting of all general paediatric diagnostic imaging
- Independent performance of pneumatic reduction of intussusception and standard emergency paediatric fluoroscopy or readiness to be trained in this technique
- CCT Radiology
- MRCP or FRCS
- Publications in Paediatric Radiology
- Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology
- Experience of working in paediatric trauma imaging
- Independent performance of gastrojejunal feeding tube changes
