University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust offers a permanent Consultant Paediatric Radiologist position. Job Title: Consultant Paediatric Radiologist. Start Date: ASAP. Contract Type: Permanent.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated, skilled and caring professional to join a friendly and cohesive team of dedicated paediatric radiologists at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive diagnostic paediatric radiology service including general plain radiography, CT, ultrasound, and MRI.
  • Participate fully with the varied work of the department including dedicated on‑call rota.
  • Lead imaging in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Contribute to training and quality improvement activity.
  • Encourage the development of a subspecialty interest in collaboration with colleagues; subspecialty training in paediatric neuroradiology is not essential but will be accommodated, as will dedicated paediatric interventional radiology.

Person Specification

Qualifications, Training & Experience

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Experience of Paediatric Radiology with at least 1 year of subspecialty training in a recognised centre
  • Independent performance and reporting of all general paediatric diagnostic imaging
  • Independent performance of pneumatic reduction of intussusception and standard emergency paediatric fluoroscopy or readiness to be trained in this technique
  • CCT Radiology
  • MRCP or FRCS
  • Publications in Paediatric Radiology
  • Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology
  • Experience of working in paediatric trauma imaging
  • Independent performance of gastrojejunal feeding tube changes
