Senior Business Analyst (IT)
Location: Canary Wharf or Newcastle – Quorum Park (travel to other offices and site will be required – 2/3 days in the office)
Rate: up to £400 per day via Umbrella (Inside IR35)
The Role
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to join a leading enterprise-level PMO. This is a “Leader of Others” position, where you will be responsible for driving high-priority, cross-functional IT initiatives from inception through to completion. You will act as the bridge between technical teams and executive stakeholders, ensuring that complex solutions are perfectly aligned with broader business objectives.
Beyond project delivery, you will play a vital role in the growth of our internal community by mentoring junior analysts and championing high standards across the BA practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the elicitation and management of both high-level and granular requirements for complex initiatives.
- Define “As-Is” and “To-Be” processes and construct detailed service models.
- Shape technical solutions alongside architects while ensuring they remain anchored to business outcomes and governance.
- Facilitate workshops across various levels of the organization, navigating ambiguity and managing competing priorities.
- Collaborate with data architects to validate information models and integration touchpoints.
- Seamlessly adapt your approach between Waterfall and Agile environments to suit the specific needs of the project.
- Support PMO stage gates by owning analysis inputs and maintaining rigorous change control.
Your Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience working within a governed PMO environment, with a deep understanding of formal stage gates.
- Highly proficient in requirements management, systems analysis, and data analysis.
- Confident engaging with everyone from site leadership to corporate functions and external providers.
- Experience in mentoring staff and leading project teams to achieve results.
- Advanced skills in negotiation, influencing, and coherent documentation for decision-making forums.
- A degree in Business, IT, or a related discipline is highly regarded.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior BA role.
- Construction background is preferred.
