Bladder Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Macmillan Bladder cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team at Imperial College Healthcare.
As a Bladder Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert nursing care and advice to support patients and their relatives or carers. You will collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, individualized care that meets local and national targets.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing input and holistically assess patients with bladder cancer.
- Deliver evidence‑based care, manage and treat patients with a personalised approach.
- Act autonomously, exercising responsibility and accountability for your actions.
- Serve as an advisor for patients and a resource for other health professionals.
- Work in or across multiple settings as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families/carers and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
- NMC registration and a degree in a related subject.
- Post‑registration qualification(s) in a speciality or related subject (e.g., Cancer).
- Experience in bladder cancer.
- Advanced communication and level 2 psychological skills training.
- Recognised teaching qualification or demonstrable teaching experience.
- MSc or MA in a related speciality.
- Recognised physical assessment module at level 7.
- Leadership course.
- Quality improvement training.
Experience
- Relevant and substantial post‑registration experience.
- Experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Experience in teaching and assessing others.
- Experience in audit and service development.
- Experience in leading and managing.
- Research experience.
Skills and Knowledge
- In‑depth knowledge of the speciality and use of evidence‑based practice.
- Advanced communication skills and ability to manage complex situations.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and ICT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lead and influence change.
- Ability to design and deliver education programmes.
