Working pattern: 1 full‑time equivalent role but we are flexible on number of hours for the right candidate(s). We offer hybrid working, 2 days at Osprey Court, South Bristol, with occasional travel across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).
As a General Practice Support Specialist, you’ll be part of our General Practice Support team, providing practical advice and guidance to GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across BNSSG.
This is a varied, hands‑on role focused on helping practices run well and stay resilient – from financial reviews and workforce efficiencies to care navigation, onboarding and supporting new staff, and preparing for CQC inspections.
You’ll also work more intensively with practices supported through the Access, Resilience & Quality (ARQ) programme, helping teams strengthen leadership and culture, improve CQC readiness and outcomes, develop sustainable financial strategies, and use demand and capacity insights to support local resilience across PCNs and localities.
Responsibilities
- Providing input and expertise to deliver projects as needed, typically they may include operational optimisation, sustainability options and workflow efficiencies.
- Working seamlessly alongside the One Care (OC) team, ICB departments, external providers and practices themselves to deliver projects and solutions relevant to the challenges being faced within General Practice organisations, including identifying and managing risk and project outcomes.
- Providing support to OC teams and practices to ensure attention is given to the correct priorities.
- Project management and coordination of relevant resources.
- Developing resources, where necessary, to assist practices in service and financial optimisation.
- Relationship management and benefits realisation working with the practices and associated colleagues.
- Developing, with support, the services and or information required for key practice requirement.
- Reporting and ensuring the senior team is kept up to date on progress and risk management.
- Delivering operational change and quality improvement initiatives, as required.
- Working with practices and PCNs to maximise contractual delivery and income.

Qualifications
- Experience of working at a management or supervisory level in General Practice.
- Proven analytical, numeracy and IT Literacy skills.
- Degree level education.
- Recognised project management qualification or equivalent level of experience.
- Recognised quality improvement and/or change management qualification or equivalent level of experience.
Experience
- Experience of working at a management or supervisory level in General Practice.
- Proven analytical, numeracy and IT Literacy skills.
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of NHS projects.
- Knowledge of EMIS.
- Knowledge of and recent experience of current developments in NHS.
Salary
£55,259 to £62,197 a year (Full‑time equivalent salary).
