Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Commercial Project Manager on a 12 Month Contract, based in Newcastle
Role Summary
Our Client is currently looking for a Senior Commercial Project Manager in their Onshore Service Great Britain team. The Commercial Manager will work as a business partner to operations management for multiple projects within a geographical hub (typically ranging from 15-30 sites/windfarms), along with working closely with many other supporting functions and key stakeholders within the business.
The Commercial Manager (together with the operations partner) has complete P&L and balance sheet responsibility for the projects/hub. The role includes but is not limited to the following key responsibilities and tasks:
Responsibilities
- Full P&L and balance sheet responsibility for projects/hub
- Cost management/forecasting for projects/hub on a monthly basis, with a focus on accuracy and delivery on budget
- Management of risk and opportunities related to projects/hub
- Reporting of risk registers and non-conformance costs
- Monitoring/analysing KPI’s for projects/hub including but not limited to availability, LTP/Corrective hours, service hours, project spend, project gross margins/costs, billings, accounts receivable/overdue management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with operations partner and wider business support functions/stakeholders, including regular face-to-face meetings
- Presentations to management on a monthly/regular basis on project/hub performance
- Handle day-to-day commercial issues/topics with site/operations with a focus on driving profitability and customer satisfaction
- Involved in the tender/sales phase of projects including supporting in the drafting of the contract and T&C’s
- Drive strong relationships with customers, support other functions and attend regular customer meetings
- Escalations and dispute management/support on commercial/contractual topics with customers
- Ensure a robust standard business modelling process and reporting requirements (controls) including risk registers, ETC’s (forecast models) and business reporting documents
- Drive process and project improvements to maximise profit/efficiency
Requirements

- Qualified accountant holding a qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Proven experience in a project-related role, ideally within the Energy sector
- Demonstrated experience of Project Controlling, Risk Management, Currency Management and knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively and in a timely manner
- Adaptability with the changing needs of the business and project and versatility to deliver on multiple conflicting priorities in a high-paced environment
- IT competence and proficiency with the use of SAP and Microsoft suite (including Power BI)
