Senior Planning Officer

Fixed Term – 12 months (maternity cover)

Full time (37 hours, Monday to Friday)

Grade 7 – £43,432 – £51,126 pa (pay award pending)

Petersfield / Hybrid working

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Planning Officer position has arisen within our busy Development Management Team to cover maternity leave for 12 months. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced planner who can effectively manage a varied caseload planning applications. You will need to be motivated and a well‑organised worker with a positive outlook who is able to deliver good performance and high standards.

East Hampshire is a beautiful district, benefiting from the South Downs National Park together with historic market towns, attractive villages and countryside. However, we face the same challenges many do in terms of where to locate new development and how to ensure there is suitable housing for everyone who needs it. Change is ongoing, we don't want to stop change, we just want to make sure change is as positive as possible, and fair.

The Development Management Team is involved in assessing a wide range of planning applications for all types of development and we also have an agency agreement to determine applications on behalf of the South Downs National Park Authority.

The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, as a mix of both home and office‑based working, to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant.
