Job Title: Production Scheduler
Salary: £41,500 – £55,000 depending on skills demonstrated
Contract: Full time & permanent
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
The Opportunity
As a Production Scheduler, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and controlling production schedules to ensure on‑time delivery to our Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers globally. Acting as a central point of contact, you will collaborate closely with OEM customers and cross‑functional teams—including operations, planning, transport, and quality—to resolve scheduling challenges, optimise capacity and inventory, and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Drive production schedules to achieve on‑time delivery, proactively managing capacity, inventory, and logistics constraints.
- Act as the primary OEM contact, building strong relationships and ensuring effective, timely communication across the supply chain.
- Identify and resolve scheduling issues, using root cause analysis to improve efficiency and reduce disruption.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve product and process challenges and meet business and customer requirements.
- Coordinate production priorities, ensuring alignment across teams to support delivery, flow, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor performance metrics, including order status, inventory, and Customer Shipping Performance (CSP), using insights to drive continuous improvement.

- Production Scheduling and Control: Drive production schedules effectively, ensuring plans are realistic, responsive to change, and aligned to delivery commitments.
- Problem Solving: Apply structured problem‑solving techniques to identify root causes, resolve issues quickly, and minimise disruption to operations.
- Forecasting: Translate customer demand into production plans, balancing capacity, inventory, and lead times to maintain consistent supply performance.
- Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and proactively, ensuring teams are aligned on priorities, risks, and actions to enable smooth, coordinated execution.

- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring data and schedules are reliable, reducing errors.
- Data Gathering & Analysis: Gather and analyse data from multiple sources, turning insights into actions that improve scheduling efficiency.
- Planning Systems: Use planning systems and tools such as MRP, SAP, and Excel to manage production plans, improve visibility, and drive better coordination.

Other Information
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
