To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Buyer located in Kendal, England.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Buyer role will be part of an excellent design team, whose members are strong communicators, ambitious and innovative.
What a typical day looks like
- Orders, reschedules and cancellations based on requisitions and MRP output.
- Tracking shipments, urging them if needed.
- Filing and recording all necessary documents.
- Checking the inventory of critical materials (personally if needed) according to the Shortage List.
- Maintains procurement records such as items purchased, costs, delivery and inventories.
- Manages supplier to price, delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate.
- Approves invoices for payment.
- Monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle.
- Maintains procurement records, reports and metrics.
- Maintaining relations with the suppliers.
- Receiving and handling the confirmations.
Experience and qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of procurement experience.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; English language knowledge; data entry; ten-key; spreadsheet (PC); ERP software.
- CIPS certification would be an advantage.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees of the organization in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
