Assistant Financial Controller – Newry area – Up to £60,000 DOE

About the company:

HireIQ Finance are delighted to work exclusively with a long standing client in the County Down area as they seek to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller. This is an outstanding opportunity for a ambitious, hands on finance professional, 3-5 years post qualified, keen to take their career to the next level, working closely with the Group Financial Controller.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of monthly group consolidation and management accounts
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts and audit process
  • Ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting across group entities
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and reporting processes across the group
  • Play a key role in ERP system implementation, upgrades, or finance system enhancements
  • Identity opportunities to improve finance processes through system automation and reporting tools
  • Work with Finance teams to ensure finance requirements are correctly captured and delivered
  • Maintain and improve internal controls for users, processes and report requests
  • Prepare and evaluate group wide regional profitability reports
  • Produce regular customer and market profitability reports, analysing revenue/margin
  • Manage and oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations across group entities
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of all intercompany balances and resolution of any discrepancies
  • Support daily group cashflow management, forecasting and reporting
  • Monthly review of Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure an audit ready approach


Your Experience:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA
  • QBE Considered with relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and best practices
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and MS Outlook;
  • Excellent administration skills, organised and able to prioritise work load;
  • Possess excellent communication and problem solving skills;
