Ocho is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our client's busy finance team in Belfast city centre.

The Role

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, playing a hands-on role across transactional finance, month-end processes and commercial reporting. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their day and is looking to develop their career within a growing group.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts across multiple entities
  • Support purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll processes
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts on a regular basis
  • Assist with VAT returns, Intrastat and fixed asset management
  • Support month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Assist with credit control and customer account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies


What You'll Need


Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a busy finance or accounts environment
  • Part-qualified or qualified with CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Experience using Sage 200
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressured, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team approach

Desirable:

  • Experience working across multiple entities
  • Exposure to VAT
