Wood Machinist

Pay: £18.00 per hour
Location: Carrickfergus
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am 1:00pm

Role Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Wood Machinist to join their workshop team in Carrickfergus. This is a hands-on role involving the machining and preparation of timber products to precise specifications within a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating wood machining equipment (e.g. saws, planers, spindle moulders)
• Machining timber to required sizes and finishes
• Reading and working from technical drawings and cutting lists
• Setting up and adjusting machinery for different production runs
• Ensuring quality control and accuracy of finished products
• Carrying out routine maintenance and basic machine checks
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Wood Machinist or similar role
• Strong knowledge of timber machining processes and machinery
• Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately
• Good attention to detail and quality standards
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
• Awareness of workshop health and safety practices
