This allows us to offer unique training in vocational qualifications, employability skills, and most importantly helping learners prepare for rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.

Transforming lives is what we do best, and there is no better example of this than in our Academies. As a Centre Manager at LCG, you support and lead your team to outstanding results. You will drive towards excellence in teaching and learning to ensure the centre’s sessions are interactive, engaging and well planned. Learners are at the centre of everything we do, and we need to ensure that they are well motivated, inspired and successful.

Duties
Leadership & Management
- Take the lead on all centre administration as per your Operational Excellence Framework (OEF) and manage the listed returns.
- Weekly Checks / Returns – ICT, Registers, Bursary, Programme, Asset Returns, TAM, Staff Recruitment, Welfare, Facebook, MD Memo, Quality, FCA System.
Teaching & Learning
- Keep yourself and staff up to date with subject knowledge to ensure lessons are challenging.
- Maintain industrial knowledge by attending annual events such as Reserve Training Camps/Events, Look at Life, Familiarisation with Acquaint Days, Assessment Centres.
- Promote MPCT/Learning Curve Group values during all lessons.
- Use assessment to inform learners on how to improve their knowledge.
- Ensure learning is systematically checked for effective learning during lessons and offer clear, directed and timely support that provides notable improvement.
- Prepare demanding lessons that enable learners to realise their potential.
- Deliver curriculum on both physical and emotional well-being.
- Ensure resources reflect diversity of learners’ experiences and provide a comprehensive understanding of people and communities beyond their immediate experience.
- Identify learners who are falling behind, support and enable all to catch up.
- Set challenging individual targets for all learners.
- Support the development of Maths & English for all learners.
- Track work experience via the FCA in England to confirm learners embrace programme opportunities with MPCT/LCG partners.
- Deliver learner induction and interview all potential new recruits.
- Maintain MPCT MIS Inspire with up-to-date learner details, performance, qualifications, attendance and progressions.
- Complete all progress reviews to support learner educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the MPCT bib system during all sessions, extending and challenging learners appropriately.
- Deliver Military Training (MTD) following the military skills portfolios scheme in a cyclical manner.
- Listen to learner and parent views to improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning provided by MPCT/LCG.

The role is measured by six Key Performance Indicators: Engagement 90%, Attendance 90%, Retention 90%, Qualifications 90%, Progressions 90%, Military Progressions 40%.

Experience and Qualifications

- Experience working within one of the uniformed services (army, navy, air force) – minimum of 3 years.
- Military or civilian Physical Training qualification.
Desirable
- GCSE Maths & English qualification.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience of teaching or instructing.
- Experience working with young people.
