GoCardless is a London-based fintech that powers domestic and international bank payments for over 75,000 organisations, processing more than $30 billion across 30 countries. The Payment Intelligence team builds data‑driven products to increase win rates and improve customer outcomes.
The Role
As an engineer on the Payment Intelligence team, you will help grow the adoption of Success+ and Protect+ and create market‑leading payment recovery and fraud prevention solutions. You will work with cross‑functional teams of engineers and data scientists to design, build, and iterate on product features.
Responsibilities
- Improve payment recovery rates for failed account‑to‑account payments.
- Enhance the value proposition of Payment Intelligence products for merchants.
- Lead growth initiatives to increase adoption of Success+ and Protect+.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to shape new product features.
- Support a cross‑functional team to deliver high‑quality code and data solutions.
Qualifications
- Growth mindset with a drive for concrete business outcomes.
- Quick adaptation to new technologies and processes.
- Collaborative, product‑ownership attitude and ability to work with multiple functions.
- Experience in experimenting, prototyping, and applying an iterative approach to validate ideas.
- Front‑end UI experience is a bonus, but a willingness to work across the stack is required.

Salary
Base salary is based on role, level, location, and market data. We offer between the minimum and mid‑point of the pay range until performance is assessed. Salaries are determined by experience, interview assessment, budgets, and parity with comparable employees.
