An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join our established team in Borehamwood.
Supporting an impressive portfolio of loyal clients, we have a reputable team of accountants, bookkeepers, and tax specialists.
This opportunity will suit someone who is ACA or ACCA qualified, with audit experience within an accountancy practice. You’ll oversee audit matters for a varied portfolio of clients. You’ll be able to effectively communicate technical matters in an easy‑to‑understand way for clients and a high level of attention to detail will also be essential for this role.
It will suit someone who can step into the role and inspire the people around you, setting an example to junior staff and working closely with clients to deliver the best possible service.
Reporting to the Audit Manager, you’ll be a natural leader that can nurture a positive working environment, whilst ensuring the highest quality service is delivered.
This is a client‑facing role requiring you to interact with clients. Good communication skills and literary fluency are crucial for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Producing accounts for clients (limited companies, sold traders, partnerships, LLLPs, charities and groups)
- Be the key relationship for the client and ensure first class client service provided at all times
- Ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget
- Managing the team to ensure they produce high quality work, are motivated to achieve high standards and that end of job appraisals are carried out for the team
- Presenting the Accounts/Audit Manager with a complete set of accounts with minimal queries
- To clear review points and put through adjustments to the accounts
- To keep time records up to date on a day‑to‑day basis and complete timesheets
- To liaise with Tax Department and deal with any queries raised
- Keep technically up to date
- To be aware of developments concerning client affairs and to identify opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
About you
- ACA or ACCA full or part qualified with experience within practice
- Relevant audit experience required for expanding audit practice
- Self‑motivated and reliable who is eager to progress
- Technically efficient in accounting
- A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
- Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
- Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
Full benefits available for the Audit and Accounts Senior
- 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), after 5 years’ service will be entitled to accrue an additional day per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 additional days.
