Overview

JR035399 – Glasgow – Director level position within Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting Job Family. The role is part of Global Corporate Controllers and responsible for the accuracy and control of the firm’s books and records to produce financial statements, develop and manage financial accounting & reporting systems, database management, capital and liquidity reporting, and external reporting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Financial accounting across all GAAPS and legal entities.
  • Close collaboration with accounting policy on interpretation and implementation of new accounting rules and analysis of new compensation arrangements.
  • Involvement in firm and finance‑wide initiatives as an SME with accountability for assessing, planning and delivering all compensation & benefit related accounting and reporting impacts.
  • Regulatory and statutory financial reporting at firm and subsidiary level, including analysis and implementation of new reporting requirements.
  • Management reporting and forecasting for the CFO and other senior stakeholders.

You Will

  • Support accounting and reporting tasks associated with employee compensation (Firm’s largest P&L line).
  • Coordinate the deliverables for auditors and internal controls testing teams.
  • Support and enhance the delivery of the compensation forecasting process.
  • Undertake production, reviewer and line management responsibilities as required.
  • Adhere to, and where possible, enhance process documentation and the control environment.
  • Deliver continuous improvement through automation and process enhancement.
  • Provide information and insights across a range of global stakeholder groups.
  • Participate in firmwide or departmental projects.
  • Represent the function in wider office committees.
  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks as required.

You Have

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification, or equivalent specialization in Finance.
  • Experience in finance processes, controls and reporting.
  • Flexibility to change priorities as new situations present themselves.
  • Strong communication skills; clear, concise, and appropriate method of delivery.
  • Experience with establishing and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience managing staff and/or reviewing the work of others.
  • Risk awareness and good guardianship skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic that works effectively in a cross‑functional team environment.
